Weddings: Procedure
- Start with an interview between Lead DJ and couple to establish if a contract and booking is wanted
- Sign contract and make a deposit
- Second interview to establish the couple’s wedding music vision, timeline and logistics for the wedding day
- Includes a must-play and a do-not-play lists
- Pinpoint genres to play and not play
- Establish essential songs and songs to not play in more detail
- Establish the couple’s preferences for the three main parts of the reception, the cocktail hour, dinner and dancing.
- Selection of processional and recessional songs (ceremony)
- Reception: Grand entrance, first dance, father-daughter dance, mother-son dance and cake cutting tracks
- Shoe game
- Discuss request policy: how the DJs collect requests, accepting or unfortunately, in exceptional cases, not accepting them
- Logistics and time-line: access to venue, power availability, setup location, in one, two or three locations
- Equipment needs: what equipment is needed
- Timeline flow: exact timing (and in some cases, with some flexibility, of events such as speeches, toasts, toasts, bouquet toss and Grand Exit)
- MC duties: style, whether formal or hype-man
- Pronunciation of names and process during entrances
- Guest interaction: weather crowd participation sons (e.g.Cupid Shuffle) or a more focused music vibe.
- Attire of the DJs
- Fine details meeting. Often 1 to 2 weeks before the wedding, the couple and the Lead DJ will review the entire itinerary
- Backup plans: what backup equipment is available
