Digital Contracts vs. Paper
E-signatures are legally binding in BC, Canada under Section 11 (1) of the Electronic Transactions Act (ETA). They are actually safer than paper, because they create a timestamped, tamper-proof record.
Shambles MOBiLE DJs sends contracts that have built-in e-sign, which clients can review and sign from their phone. The signed contract is stored with the event, linked to the invoice, and accessible by both parties anytime. No printing, scanning, or chasing signatures.
Integrating Contracts
The smoothest booking flow Shambles has found is:
- Inquiry comes in (from the website, WeddingWire, The Knot, referral, etc.)
- Respond within hours with a personalized message
- Send a proposal with 2 to 3 package options
- Client selects a package and you send the contract
- Client e-signs and pays the deposit in the same flow
- Date is confirmed and planning begins
